In 2011, we conducted our first Winter Storm events in order to highlight uniquely Eritrean-Californian art, culture, and above all, creativity...
The idea behind these events was not only to promote an Eritrean-American consciousness by reclaiming elements of our history in these events, but also to begin the discussion about how we can create spaces that are conducive for the new generation of Eritrean-Americans. In continuation of this tradition, we will be conducting our fifth Winter Storm event in Oakland from January 16th-17th, 2016.
